 | | It is important to create the proper saline solution to use in your neti pot. Pure water is not used because it has a different ph from your body and will aggravate your sinus membranes. In proper amounts, salt added to water creates either a isotonic or a hypotonic solution.
An isotonic solution (9 grams of salt to one liter of water) is closest to your body’s ph and is what we recommend for daily use with the neti pot while a hypertonic solution (35 grams of salt to one liter of water) helps reduce tissue swelling and is often suggested when dealing with chronic conditions.

| How To Use Our Salt Rinse:Place a heaping ½ teaspoon of our French Atlantic Salt Rinse into your neti pot with 8 oz. of warm water. Stir thoroughly and run 4 ounces through each nostril. (See Neti Pot Education for more details.) Hint!If you experience any discomfort, adjust your level of salt. Too little salt can be as uncomfortable as too much salt. Play around with what works for you. More or less? More tilt in your head? Are the salt crystals dissolved? Everyone is different. Don’t give up! Neti rinsing really, really works.
